BASIC FUNCTION:

This position works in the school office and provides a wide range of administrative duties for the school, teachers, parents and students.  This includes answering the telephone, greeting and directing visitors, taking and tracking attendance, taking daily lunch counts, charging students during lunch, selling bus passes, handling petty cash and making bank deposits.  This position assists with tasks for the principal, finding substitute teachers, mail distribution, making intercom announcements, coordinating school celebrations, scheduling conferences, collecting fees, updating student records, and sending out parent communications.

 

This position will also provide direct or indirect services to children, youth, and/or their parents or guardians. The position supports: the creation of a safe, positive teaching and learning environment; student development in the intellectual, physical, social, emotional, behavioral domains; nurturance of positive productive relationships; integration of technology to support student learning; and exposure of students to ethical and professional role models.

Secretary will at times work with students who need specialized instruction in reading, writing, math, or behavior needs. This position will supervise non-academic areas such as lunchroom, recess, and hallways. They will support paraprofessional staff in the completion of medicaid forms and documentation.

Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with and supporting teams that serve children with varied behavioral and social emotional learning needs
